On behalf of the Waterloo Filtration Institute team and WFI Advisory Board, we would like to extend our warmest welcome to Dr. Kuo-Lun (Allan) Tung as a new member of our advisory board.
Dr. Tung is a Distinguished Professor at National Taiwan University (NTU) and Deputy Director WInnER Center, NTU Taipei, Taiwan. He received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in 1991, 1994, and 1998, respectively, from the NTU, all in chemical engineering. Before joining NTU in August 2012, he was the Director of the R&D Centre for Membrane Technology at Chung Yuan University from 2009 to 2012, with a specialty in research and development on membrane filtration applications for water and wastewater treatment for 20 years. He is now serving as the editor of the Separation and Purification Technology journal and the Vice-Chair of the Membrane Technology Specialist Group in the International Water Association (IWA). He has been a fellow of IWA since 2019.
We are humbled to have Dr. Tung as a registered student in our CFSS 2022 Class and our distinguished expert panelist for the Filtration and Separation in Water Treatment course. He has shown an excellent example to his students and all of us by continuing learning as life never stops teaching. Dr. Tung said, "Filtration is a very segmented and dynamic market, directly impacting the air we breathe and the water we drink. It is important for us to continue to learn, grow and update our knowledge. We appreciate the unique, top-notch education program WFI offers to our students and the industry."
At WFI, our mission is to support the growth of the global filtration industry and advance the sciences and technologies of filtration and separation processes for a clean, healthy, and sustainable world. We are excited and honored to have Dr. Tung join WFI Advisory Board. He will be an invaluable asset and ambassador as we continue to work together to promote a cleaner environment for a healthier and better world.
