We, at WFI, would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all our esteemed speakers and the attentive audience for their participation in today's enlightening 90-minute "Filtration Hour" held this morning, on September 29, 2023, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am EDT. We delved into a crucial topic that profoundly influences the well-being of us all: "Air Filtration, HVAC Equipment, and Indoor Air Quality (IAQ)."
During this session, we explored thought-provoking questions, including:
Can HVAC systems embrace adaptive performance to respond to variations in IAQ?
What future innovations in HVAC systems can help enhance air quality sustainably for the built environment?
Why hasn’t air filter performance gained sufficient traction to be a pillar of the health and safety of human occupants?
Would recirculating air through filtration stages be a functional mitigation approach to improve IAQ?
Why does filter acquisition overlook the appropriateness of filter media selection and a detailed account of its characteristics, given the application at hand and the climate and operational conditions?
This engaging session was chaired by Dr. Iyad Al-Attar and skillfully moderated by Mr. Mitch McCreary. Our panel of distinguished speakers included:
Nabil Shahin, Managing Director, AHRI MENA, UAE
Alfredo Oliveira, CEO, Jasmine Mirage, Portugal, Portugal
Marta San Román, Director General, AFEC, Spain
Stephen Nicholas, Past NAFA President, Filter Service, USA
Mike Malloy, Principal, Malloy Strategies, LLC, USA
Thomas Peters, PhD, Director, Peters Consulting, Germany
Richard Lydon, Secretary-General, The Filtration Society, UK
