Executive Director
RESET Standard, Canada
Speaker Bio
Mr. Stanton Wong is Executive Director of RESET Standard and has over 10 years of experience advancing healthy and sustainable buildings through data-driven environmental performance measurement. He has led the development of digital certification systems, environmental assessment frameworks, and international initiatives that improve the transparency and credibility of building sustainability data.
As one of the principal developers of the RESET Standard, Stanton has contributed to the advancement of performance-based certification for indoor air quality, embodied carbon, circularity, and other measurable aspects of building sustainability. His work focuses on transforming real-world environmental data into practical tools that support better building design, operation, and long-term decarbonization strategies.
Stanton is currently leading the development of the RESET Safer Air Accessibility Index (RSAAI), an open framework for evaluating and communicating access to healthy indoor air using real-time building performance data.

Abstract
The RESET Safer Air Accessibility Index (RSAAI) is the next evolution of the RESET Viral Index, expanding its approach from continuous indoor air quality monitoring to a broader framework that evaluates the effectiveness of multiple air-cleaning strategies operating within a building.
The RESET Viral Index demonstrated that continuously monitored environmental data can be used to estimate the risk of airborne disease transmission in real time. The RSAAI builds on this foundation by incorporating additional air-cleaning technologies recognized in ASHRAE Standard 241, quantifying them using operational data such as airflow measurements.
The result is a continuously updated index that estimates how effectively a space is reducing airborne infectious aerosols using real-time operational data. Rather than providing only a compliance assessment, the RSAAI is designed to communicate building performance through a simple, transparent metric that can support building operators, occupants, and public health decision-makers.
The term Accessibility reflects a broader vision for healthy buildings. Just as physical accessibility seeks to ensure that buildings can be safely and independently used by people of all ages and abilities, air accessibility recognizes that access to clean indoor air should also be considered an essential characteristic of an inclusive building. The RSAAI reframes indoor air quality as not only an environmental or engineering objective, but also an accessibility objective that can be measured, communicated, and continuously improved.
