Dr. Cédric Vallet is the Head of Product Management & Business Development – Filtration Division, at Ahlstrom (in France). He has 20 years of experience in Filtration; in R&D, then in Sales & Marketing. Expertise in filtration media manufacturing and various air & liquid applications. He led the Ahlstrom FiltEV® launch, a new platform of high-performance filtration materials for Electric Vehicles. He received his Ph.D. in 2006 from the University of Rennes (FR) and Engineering Master’s Degree in Chemistry, ENSCR, 2002.
Dr. Vallet is a dedicated supporter of the WFI education program, contributing significantly to the global filtration industry. His efforts to enhance filtration knowledge and technology demonstrate a deep commitment to the field, benefiting the broader community through improved understanding and innovations for a clean, healthy, and sustainable world.

Today, its capabilities are being redefined through innovations that emphasize high synthetic content designs, enabling superior durability, optimized pore structures, and enhanced filtration efficiency. In parallel, the evolution toward engineered multi-layer wetlaid constructions allow distinct layers to be tailored for specific functions—such as fine particulate capture, dust holding capacity, and mechanical strength—while maintaining high productivity. Further advances merge wetlaid with complementary nonwoven technologies, creating hybrid media platforms that deliver exceptional efficiency, durability, and service life.
By leveraging fiber composition, layering strategy, and multi-technology integration, next generation wetlaid nonwovens are meeting the most demanding requirements across transportation and industrial filtration markets.
