Waterloo Filtration Institute (WFI) has completed another course in the Certified Filtration & Separation Specialist (CFSS 2020) program with the second course on Liquid Filtration II this morning. Today’s course, Liquid Filtration II, was conducted by Dr. Wu Chen, Principal Research Scientist at Dow, a well-recognized leading expert in the global filtration and separation industry. It was an excellent and informative course, well received by the class. These two courses were a fantastic way to learn about some of the basics of liquid filtration principles. Dr. Chen will continue next Wednesday, July 22, 2020, with his class on Solid/Liquid Separation. The course will focus on the field separation from the industrial application perspective. In addition, pretreatment which is commonly used in the industry to enhance filtration and separation performances, will be discussed. The curriculum is designed for people who are new to the filtration industry either in technical, sales or business functions. It is also an excellent refreshing course for those who have been involved in filtration for a while, especially in relating some fundamental principles to practical operations. Practical information and examples are used to allow the audience a good understanding and appreciation of this technology.
