Respiratory Filtration Using Nanofibers

In an effort to connect our presenters with the participants, WFI is launching a series of posts to reveal what you can expect at our conference. In this issue, we are very proud to present Dr. Doshi and his topic at WFI 2020.

Dr. Doshi is the founder of Chattanooga Tennessee based eSpin Technologies. His nanofiber journey started in 1989 at the University of Akron and over the past 30 years, he has been pursuing nanofiber technology development to commercialization. During his nanofiber journey, he has been instrumental in the development and scale-up of nanofiber production to the conversion of media into products and technology demonstrations. He earned his doctoral degree in Polymer Sciences from the University of Akron, Akron, Ohio.

Abstract of Dr. Doshi Presentation

Respiratory Filtration Using Nanofibers

Covid-19 has created a massive demand for masks and air filters resulting in a shortfall of nonwoven filtration media all over the world. Nanofibers has become material of choice for many mask manufacturers as a result of its ability to capture small aerosol drops while providing superior breathability. This presentation will cover nanofiber media production for face masks and air filters to rapid prototyping and manufacturing of masks and respirator filters.
