This course explores the principles and applications of biofiltration as a natural and sustainable approach to filtration. By studying filtration processes in nature and the human body — such as those occurring in the kidney, liver, lungs, and blood-brain barrier — participants will learn how these biological mechanisms inspire advanced materials, smart systems, and sustainable filtration solutions. The session will conclude with a live roundtable discussion on future trends and opportunities, including cross-disciplinary innovation in medicine, materials science, and engineering, as well as monitoring and AI applications.
