Smith, Tyler (USA)

Mr. Smith is vice president, Healthy Buildings, HVAC and Controls at Johnson Controls. He has spent 19 years with Johnson Controls in roles focused on leveraging building management systems and HVAC equipment to drive important outcomes such as improvements in energy efficiency and indoor air quality. From 2018 to 2020, Tyler led Johnson Controls’ Critical Environments business unit, which designs and manufactures systems for critical spaces such as hospitals and laboratories. From 2020 to 2023,Tyler led Johnson Controls’ Healthy Buildings initiative with a focus on helping customers realize productivity and financial outcomes associated with operating healthier buildings. Since January 2024 Tyler has led offering development and strategy for Johnson Controls’ Healthy Buildings, HVAC and Controls portfolios. With a background deeply rooted in buildings, HVAC and controls, Tyler brings a unique voice to WFI. We expect to leverage his experience and network at Johnson Controls to ensure our educational and advocacy campaigns are comprehensive and aligned with current buildings-market trends. Tyler has an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA from Emory University. He resides in Nashville, Tennessee, USA with his wife and two children.
